Lynn Snow Emergency Procedures

Lynn residents are reminded that it is their responsibility to remove vehicles from city streets during a snow emergency. Please be aware that due to revised FCC regulations, snow emergencies will no longer be announced by interrupting cable television service. Residents can learn of a snow emergency by contacting the D.P.W. (781-477-7099) or by listening to WESX Radio (1230). Other snow-related information may be obtained on AT&T Broadband Channels 3 and 16. Vehicles that are not removed are subject to ticketing and/or towing. Parking for those without driveways is available at the following locations:

       Brickett School
        Callahan School
        Ellis Street Municipal Lot
(School Street side)
        Ford School
        Harrington School
        Ingalls School
        Lynn English High School
        Lynn Vocational Technical School
        M.B.T.A. Parking Garage
        Sisson School

Parking next to school buildings and in driveway areas is not allowed. Vehicles left at these sites must be removed by 6 a.m. the following day or be subject to being towed. Property owners should be aware of an ordinance making them responsible for removal of snow and/or treatment of ice on sidewalks abutting their property. In addition, another ordinance prohibits a person from depositing, dumping, or plowing snow from private property to a city street. Violation of either ordinance is punishable by a fine of up to $50.
