Subject:  Arrest Made in Callahan School Vandalism

 

        On Monday August 23rd, the Lynn Police Department began an investigation into an incident of extreme vandalism at the Callahan School.  Subsequently, investigators from our Juvenile Unit received an anonymous tip that a 13 year old boy was overheard speaking to others about the damage done at the school.  Based on this tip, officers located this 13 year old Lynn resident and information obtained during a later interview resulted in the arrest of the juvenile (arrest made on 08/25).  The juvenile was charged with delinquency by reason of: 1) Breaking and Entering with intent to commit a misdemeanor, 2) Breaking and Entering with intent to commit a felony, 3) Malicious Destruction of Property over $250 4) Larceny from a Building.   

        The investigation is still active and ongoing: there may be additional charges and/or suspects in the crime. Further comment is not forth coming at this time due to the sensitive nature of the investigation.
