From: Lieut. Dave Brown Date: November 5, 2007 Subject: Stabbing
On Sunday, November 4, 2007, at approximately 5:13 p.m., Lynn Police responded to Salem Hospital, on a report that two individuals arrived with multiple stab wounds. They were identified as Marvin Pojoy, age 22, and Marvin Robles, age 29, both of Lynn. At the time, Pojoy’s injuries were considered life-threatening. He suffered from puncture wounds to the area of his neck, chest and side. He is expected to survive. Robles’ injuries were not considered life-threatening. He suffered from lacerations to his left arm, hands, back, and a puncture wound to his abdomen The officers’ initial investigation revealed that an altercation occurred between the victims and another individual, while they were in the area of 12 Cleveland Street, in Lynn. They were supposedly traveling in a vehicle with others, when a light blue Dodge Caravan passed them, and blocked their path. This vehicle had tinted rear windows. The driver exited the van, and Pojoy and Robles exited their vehicle. During the subsequent altercation, the operator of the van allegedly displayed a knife, and stabbed Marvin Pojoy. Pojoy retreated back to his vehicle, and Robles approached. He too was stabbed. The driver of the van entered his vehicle, and fled the scene, after a third party approached him with a bottle. The stabbing victims responded to Salem Hospital. The operator of the van was described as a black male in his twenties, approximately 6’00” tall, short hair, no facial hair, and dressed in black clothing. Detective Stephen Withrow of the Lynn Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division is investigating. This incident does not appear to be gang related.
