Subject:            Stolen Wheelchair

On Sunday, October 13, 2007, at approximately 5: 37 P.M., Lynn Police responded to 85 New Castle Street, on a report of a larceny of a wheelchair. Upon the arrival of Officer Patrick McGuire, he learned that the electric wheelchair was stolen from the rear common hallway of the complex. The owner had left her residence with family members, and upon returning home, discovered the chair was missing.

Officer McGuire’s preliminary investigation revealed that neighbors observed children using a wheelchair in the open field between King’s Lynn and Lynn Classical. He was subsequently joined by Officer Jack Marr, and they conducted a search of the surrounding areas. Unfortunately, the officers could not locate the wheelchair, which was described as an electric Power Ranger Quickie, color gray and black. At the time, a black backpack was attached to the rear.

If anyone has information regarding the whereabouts of this wheelchair, please contact Lynn Police, Detective Stephen Pohle at 781 477-4319.  There is the possibility, that it may have been abandoned in a secluded area, after the power source was depleted.
