Subject:  Lynn Police arrest man for stealing copper

 

        On August 26, 2011 the Lynn Police arrested Galen Ruby (01-19-75) from 546 Walnut Street in Lynn for stealing parts to lighting poles at a Lynn park. Officers Daniel Landry and Christopher Hagerty were patrolling the Bowser Complex, baseball facility on O’Callahan Way, in  plain clothes capacity. On the previous shift there several brass fittings stolen form the newly installed light towers at the park. These Officers were conducting undercover patrols in the area.

        At 0400 hours, the Officers observed a male crouching down behind a light pole in the left field area of the baseball field. Officers found Galen Ruby to be in possession of burglarious tools and some wiring from the light stand. Galen Ruby was taken into custody without incident and charged with:

 

  1. Larceny over $250
  2. Receiving Stolen Property
  3. Destruction of Property over $250
  4. Possession of Burglarious tools
  5. Trespassing
  6. Vandalizing Utility Company Property at night

 

        During the course of the arrest, Officers determined that Galen Ruby left his eight year old son home alone. Officers responded to the house and found the boy asleep. The boy was placed in the custody of his mother from Saugus. The DCF was notified by Officers of the incident. Galen Ruby will be arraigned in Lynn District Court today.
