Emmanuel Niboh Wendzie Muluh Kenneth Niboh Magdalene Fonta Princewill Fonta
An investigation culminated on 11/05/2008 at the Lynn District Court with the arraignment of Emmanuel Niboh, Wendzie Muluh, Kenneth Niboh, Magdalene Fonta and Princewill Fonta. The charges included Filing False Insurance Claims, Filing a False Police Report, Conspiracy, and Larceny. The complaints allege that on 12/09/2005 at 1:57 A.M., the Lynn Police Department received a report of a hit and run accident on Essex Street at Mountain Avenue. The police went to the scene and spoke with Wendzie Muluh 29 years old of Revere who identified herself as the operator of a vehicle and a single passenger, Emmanuel Niboh 41 years old of Revere. There was minor damage to the rear of their vehicle which Muluh and Emmanuel Niboh claimed was a result being struck by a hit and run vehicle. They reported they were not injured. They made no mention of any other passengers. Later, Muluh, Kenneth Niboh 32 years old of Revere, Magdalene Fonta 56 years old of Lynn and Princewill Fonta 22 years old of Lynn made injury claims to Safety Insurance Company, MetLife Insurance Company, and Main Street America Group Insurance Company. The insurance companies conducted investigations. The accumulated evidence indicated the damage to the vehicle did not occur from being struck by a hit and run vehicle, that some of the claimants were not involved in any crash, and that the injuries claimed were fraudulent. National Grange and Met Life denied the claims. Safety paid had a portion of the claims before denying the remainder claims. The insurance companies then referred the claims to the Insurance Fraud Bureau of Massachusetts alleging fraud. The Insurance Fraud Task Force of Lynn, consisting of investigators from the IFB and the Lynn Police Department conducted a further investigation that resulted in criminal complaints. The prosecution is on going.
