On Wednesday, July 4, 2007, Lynn Police and Lynn Fire responded to the Curwin Circle neighborhood on a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they located the victim Eddie Sanchez, age 22 of Lynn, who suffered from multiple gun shot wounds. He was subsequently transported to Massachusetts General Hospital and treated for life-threatening injuries. At the time of this incident, family, friends and neighbors within the community were celebrating Fourth of July festivities. There were dozens of people, many of whom were young children, enjoying the day and what it represents. The victim, Eddie Sanchez, a 22 year-old adult, was very fortunate to survive the ordeal. This horrific episode could have easily ended with the death of one or more individuals, including a young child. The investigation is being conducted by Detectives Stephen Pohle (781 477-4319) and David McEnaney (781 477-4320) of the Lynn Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division. They are actively working the case, and have identified a suspect. However, in order to move forward with the investigation, detectives need your assistance. Lynn Police and the Sanchez family, who are former Curwin Circle residents, are asking the Curwin Circle Community to unite, and work with housing and police officials. The objective is to bring the person responsible for this violent act, to justice. Neighbors and visitors, who witnessed the incident, are urged to contact police and share what information they have. Without regard for you, your children, or the possible consequences, this individual brought violence to your doorstep. Please assist police in bringing the person responsible for this act, to justice.
