From: Lieut. Ted Blake Date: June 30, 2008 Subject: Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident
On Sunday evening, June 29, 2008. at approximately 7:45 p.m., Lynn Police Officers responded to the area of Holyoke Street near Curwin Circle, on a report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers observed a 2002 Mercury Cougar with two injured persons still inside. Both parties were transported to Union Hospital. The female operator, Kate M. Gallagher, 19 years of age, from Lynn, was pronounced deceased at Union Hospital. The passenger, Ryan Dever, 21 years of age, from Saugus, was not seriously injured in the accident. The initial investigation shows that the Mercury Cougar was traveling north on Holyoke Street, left the roadway and rolled over several times before coming to rest in the road near 2 Curwin Circle. Lynn Traffic Investigator, John Meaney, and Massachusetts State Police, Trooper John Bibeau are investigating the accident.
