Subject: Arson 51 Liberty Street (El Siloe Church)


The Lynn Police Department along with the Lynn Fire Department and the Department of Fire Services are investigating a suspicious fire that occurred at 51 Liberty Street (El Siloe Church) on Tuesday May 21st 2013 at 4 O’clock a.m. which destroyed the entire building.

The El Siloe Church was vandalized on eight separate occasions prior to the fire on May 21st 2013. The series of vandalisms spanned from February to May of 2013. These incidents of vandalism involved smashed out windows believed to have occurred during the overnight hours. The vandalism incidents led up to the eventual arson of the church and are being investigated by the Lynn Police Department and the arson squads of the Lynn Fire Department and the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

The attached photographs are from the suspect involved in the last incident of vandalism at the church on May 17th 2013 prior to the arson. If anyone has any information regarding the suspect in the photographs or information regarding the arson of the church, they are encouraged to contact the Lynn Police Department at (781) 595-2000 or they can text an anonymous tip to Lynn Police at (tip Lynn and then the information to tip411). The Office of the State Fire Marshal has a 24 hour arson reward hotline that can also be reached at (1-800-682-9229) with a $5000 reward currently offered for information regarding the arson. The video from the arson of the church is currently being enhanced by investigators in attempt to identify the suspect.
