From: Lieut. Dave Brown Date: May 8, 2007 Subject: Shooting 103 Warren Street
On Monday, May 7, 2007, at 5:25 P.M., Officers Timothy Magner, Edward Tansey and Sergeant Richard Donnelly responded to the area of 103 Warren Street, on a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they located a victim Saran Sok, age 22, of Lynn. He had an apparent gunshot wound to his right leg. The preliminary investigating suggested that Sok was approached by one or more individuals who allegedly produced a handgun, and fired it at him. Sergeant Michael Vail and Detective Gary Hagerty of the Lynn Police Gang Unit arrived on scene and took over the investigation. Detective Howard McCollin of the Lynn Police Identification Unit processed the scene for evidence. The investigation into this shooting remains ongoing. As part of their investigation, the detectives will ascertain whether or not the incident has a gang connection. Sok was transported to the hospital via ambulance. His injury was considered non-life threatening.
