From: Lieut. Dave Brown Date: March 18, 2008 Subject: Bank Robbery
Today, March 18, 2008, at approximately 9:33 A.M., Lynn Police responded to St. Jeans Credit Union, located on 527 Western Avenue, on a report of a robbery. The suspect was described as a light skinned male in his twenties, approximately 5’04” tall, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. The hood was pulled up over his head. He allegedly approached a teller’s window, and passed a note demanding money. No weapons were observed, and the thief left the bank with an undisclosed amount of currency. Officers conducted a search of the area, however no arrests were made. This incident is under investigation with the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force, and Detective Timothy Ferrari of the Lynn Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division. Furthermore, Detectives believe the suspect could be the same person involved in the two previous incidents. After the robbery, the suspect walked out of the bank, towards Franklin Street. If anyone traveling through this busy area happened to observe a person fitting this description, please contact detectives at 781 599-9057. When thieves commit these robberies, they often attempt to hide their facial features by wearing hooded sweatshirts, hats and/or sunglasses. We would like to remind bank customers that they may be requested by employees, to respectfully remove these items. This is a very reasonable request, which could help deter and quickly solve future robberies.
