On March 4, 2008, at approximately 3:55 P.M., Lynn Police were dispatched to 50 Goodridge Street on a report of a stabbing. Detectives from the Lynn Police Gang Unit also responded to the scene. The initial investigation indicated that there was an altercation between two or more youths, outside of Lynn English High School, on the Goodridge Street side.

During the incident, a 16-year-old male was assaulted by a male party with a machete. The victim, a Lynn resident, was transported to Mass General Hospital for a serious cutting injury to his right thumb, and a laceration to his face. It was reported that three light skinned black males fled, prior to the arrival of police. Responding units searched the area, but did not locate any suspects. No arrests have been made, and the incident remains under investigation.
